Open Space facilitation — track record & cases
Open Space in practice
The events below are community and volunteer work where I supported conference and community organisers with Open Space facilitation.
LeSS conference Amsterdam
Open Space as a standalone track within a classical LeSS conference. I handled the full organisation and preparation: setup, marketplace, facilitation on the day. The result: from an empty to a full marketplace in under 10 minutes — with immediately visible energy in the room.
LeanCamp Brussels
One of the early LeanCamp editions in Brussels, around ten years ago. An audience with a distinct Lean Startup mentality: rapid experimentation, market learning, no waste. Open Space connected seamlessly with that mindset.
Scrum usergroup Netherlands
Open Space as community format replacing the classical conference setup. This event proved the format works at scale: 150 participants setting their own agenda, from junior to senior.
Open Space Lisbon
Co-facilitation with Steve Holyer, direct student of Harrison Owen. I handled the full setup, preparation and support. International group of 150 participants, multiple nationalities and disciplines.
Government community day
Community event for civil servants and government workers in Flanders. I facilitated the full day — both the Open Space and the World Café rounds. Result: concrete collaboration initiatives between organisations that normally have little contact.
Liberating Structures Global Gathering Brussels
Two days fully in Open Space format for the international Liberating Structures community. Sixty practitioners from multiple countries built the agenda themselves — one of the most methodologically aware groups to work with. Practice what you preach.
More contexts
Also facilitated: community event Amsterdam, and a professional conference for a specific sector (details on request).
